Founded in 1929 by Dr. E.B. Clark located in a “family home” purchased by the County Commission. In 1958 Hill-Burton Grant used to build a larger, modern hospital on Gracey Street. The hospital was purchased and operated by HCA from 1972 to 1976. In 1978 the hospital was built on its current location at 401 Sewell Road. In 1986 National Healthcare purchased the hospital from HCA. Community Health Systems purchased White County Community Hospital in 1994. The new Emergency Department was added in 1999. In 2007 the CT/MRI building was added. March 1, 2008, Capella Healthcare purchased the hospital.
