Visiting Hours
Family members and friends are welcome to visit. Patient care is our primary concern at White County Community Hospital, and in order to enhance the quality of care, we ask that visitors not stay past 8:30 p.m. and not arrive before 8:30 a.m. 

Due to patient privacy requirements, any information about the patient’s diagnosis or treatment must come directly from the patient to concerned family members or friends.  No information will be given out by the switchboard operator or nursing personnel. The patient may be reached by dialing (931) 738-9211 and asking for the patient by name.

Driving Directions

From Nashville:  Take I-40 east (approximately 75 miles) towards Knoxville. Take exit #288 south (Hwy 111 Sparta exit) Travel south on Hwy 111 approximately 17 miles to Sparta. The 2nd Sparta exit will be Roosevelt Street – turn left at traffic light. (McDonald’s on right).  Continue on Roosevelt for about 1 block to Sewell Road. At Sewell Road turn left. Hospital will be two blocks on left.

From Knoxville:  Take I-40 west (approximately 75 miles) towards Nashville. Take exit #288 south (Hwy 111 Sparta exit) Travel south on Hwy 111 approximately 17 miles to Sparta. The 2nd Sparta exit will be Roosevelt Street – turn left at traffic light. (McDonald’s on right).  Continue on Roosevelt for about 1 block to Sewell Road. At Sewell Road turn left. Hospital will be two blocks on left.

From Chattanooga:  Take 127 North approximately 25 miles.  At Dunlap take Hwy 111 north to Sparta. At Roosevelt Street (McDonald’s on left) turn right. Continue for one block to Sewell Road. At Sewell Road turn left. Hospital will be two blocks on left. 

Parking
There is ample free parking for visitors and patients on the south side of the hospital.  Please observe the “Handicapped Parking” as well as other “No Parking” areas.  All vehicles parked in the “No Parking” zone or in the “Handicapped” areas without the appropriate placard will be ticketed or towed by the police.

Gift Shop
The Gift Shop is open 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and staffed by our hospital volunteers. Our gift shop offers a wide variety of gifts for all ages. If you need a stuffed teddy bear for a child or a porcelain angel for grandmother, we have it. Snacks are also available. 

Cafeteria
The hospital cafeteria is open 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. A full course meal is served during the lunch hour for a minimal fee in the hospital dining room. Light snacks such as bagels and fruit are available at all times. Coffee and water are available throughout the day.
